Community Development according to Sufficiency Economy Philosophy Principles in Nonthaburi Province

Abstract

          The research purposes were (1) to study the level of community development according to Sufficiency Economy Philosophy Principles in Nonthaburi Province; (2) to analyze the factors affecting the community development according to Sufficiency Economy Philosophy Principles in Nonthaburi Province; and (3) to propose the guidelines of community development according to Sufficiency Economy Philosophy Principles in Nonthaburi Province. This was the quantitative and qualitative research. The population was people aged 18 years and over, domiciled in Nonturi Province; the sample group of quantitative research was the 400 people, the research instrument was the questionnaire; the sample group of qualitative research was the 18 interviewees consisted of the 4 local leaders and community leaders, and 14 general public, the research instrument was the in-depth interview form. The data analysis statistics were the frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, multiple regression analysis, and correlation analysis.

          The research findings were:

          1. The factors affecting the community development according to Sufficiency Economy Philosophy Principles found the overall was at high level; the descending mean were: the community management processes aspect, the community leaders aspect, the local wisdom and community culture aspect, the people's participation aspect, the natural resources and environment aspect, the social aspect, the psychological aspect, the technology aspect, and the economic aspects, respectively.

          2. The factors affecting the community development in the community leaders aspect, the community management processes aspect, the natural resources and environment aspect, and the psychological aspect found these aspects affected to the community development according to Sufficiency Economy Philosophy Principles in Nonthaburi Province at statistical significance level 0.05.

          3. Should encourage people to have the mental state ready to learn, and ready to apply the knowledge of Sufficiency Economy in their career and use daily.
