Abstract

The purposes of this research were 1) to investigate levels of job characteristics, and work engagement among employees of local administration organizations in the Phanna Nikhom district, Sakon Nakhon province and 2) to examine the influence of job characteristics on work engagement among employees of local administration organizations in the Phanna Nikhom district area, Sakon Nakhon province. This was the quantitative research. The questionnaire was employed for data collection, altogether 253 questionnaires from the employees of local administration organizations in the Phanna Nikhom district area, Sakon Nakhon province. Mean, standard deviation, Pearson’s correlation coefficient, and regression

  1. The job characteristic was in high level ( = 3.61) and the work engagement was also in high level ( = 3.94).
  2. The influence of job characteristics on work engagement of employees in local administration organizations at the Phanna Nikhom district, Sakon Nakhon province were statistical significance in high level (73.60 %) as the skill variety had highly positive influence on work engagement, statistical significance at .000 level. Then, the autonomy highly positive influenced on work engagement, statistical significance at .000 level. Next, task significance forecasted that it influenced on work engagement in moderate level. Feedback influenced on work engagement with low forecast statistical significance at .000 level as well as task identity did not influence on work engagement.
