Main Article Content
Abstract
This research aimed to: 1) Study and synthesize the components of a learning organization model for school excellence; 2) Examine the current conditions, desirable conditions, and priority needs of the components; and 3) Conduct exploratory factor analysis and examine the quality of the identified components. A mixed methods research design was employed. The population consisted of school directors and heads of academic affairs in schools under the Surat Thani Primary Educational Service Area Office 3. The sample consisted of 220 school directors and heads of academic affairs, selected through proportionate stratified random sampling, along with experts who participated in interviews and the verification of the components. The research instruments consisted of questionnaires and expert interview forms. Data were collected by administering the questionnaires to the sample and conducting expert interviews to verify and confirm the identified components. The statistics used for data analysis included mean, standard deviation, the Modified Priority Needs Index (PNI Modified), and Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA). The research findings revealed that school excellence consisted of five components and 20 indicators, while the learning organization consisted of eight components and 25 indicators. The highest priority need for school excellence was student quality and outcomes, whereas the highest priority need for the learning organization was vision and strategy. The results of the exploratory factor analysis revealed that the Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin (KMO) measure was .849 for school excellence and .820 for the learning organization, indicating that the data were suitable for factor analysis and that the extracted factors appropriately represented the underlying structure of the variables. The experts confirmed that the developed components were at the highest level in terms of appropriateness, accuracy, feasibility, and utility.
