INTEGRATING THE PRINCIPLE OF SAMAGGI TO DEVELOP INNOVATIONS FOR PROMOTING TOURISM IN THE DIGITAL ERA

Abstract
This research article aimed to: 1) Develop a tourism promotion innovation by integrating the principle of harmony (Sāmaggī-dhamma) to enhance tourism innovation in the digital era; 2) Implement the tourism promotion innovation integrated with the principle of harmony for developing tourism innovation in the digital era; and 3) Evaluate the implementation of the tourism promotion innovation integrated with the principle of harmony for developing tourism innovation in the digital era. The study employed a mixed-methods research design combining quantitative and qualitative approaches. The quantitative sample consisted of 385 participants, while 30 key informants participated in the qualitative study. Research instruments included questionnaires and in-depth interviews. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, including frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation, while qualitative data were analyzed through content analysis. The results revealed that: 1) The integration of the principle of harmony for developing tourism innovation in the digital era was overall at a high level ( = 4.23) 2) The implementation of tourism innovation in the upper southern region, integrated with the principle of harmony, demonstrated that the innovation was appropriate to the community context and contributed to tourism management in three aspects: information provision, tourism route development, and community collaboration. The resulting outcomes were reflected in four major dimensions: strengthening community cooperation and participation, developing tourism innovation and management systems, facilitating income generation and environmental conservation, and promoting local culture and identity; and 3) The evaluation of the implementation of the tourism promotion innovation integrated with the principle of harmony for tourism innovation development in the digital era was overall at a high level (
