COMPONENTS OF STUDENTS LIFE AND CAREER SKILLS OF SCHOOL UNDER PRIMARY EDUCATIONAL

Abstract
This research aimed to investigate the components of life and career skills among primary school students. The study employed a survey research design and was conducted in three sequential stages. First, the researcher synthesized the components of students’ life and career skills from relevant documents and previous studies obtained from seven academic sources. Second, in-depth interviews were conducted with five experts to validate, refine, and supplement the conceptual components identified from the document synthesis. Third, the appropriateness and feasibility of the identified components were assessed by five experts. The research instruments consisted of a document synthesis form, a semi-structured interview form, and a five-point Likert-scale questionnaire. Data were analyzed using percentage, mean, and standard deviation. The findings revealed that the life and career skills of primary school students consisted of seven key components: 1) Flexibility and adaptability, 2) Initiative, 3) Social and cross-cultural skills, 4) Leadership and responsibility, 5) Productivity and accountability, 6) Technology use, and 7) Problem-Solving skills. Overall, all components were rated at the highest level in both appropriateness and feasibility. The overall appropriateness was at a very high level, with a mean of 4.82 and a standard deviation of 0.02, while the overall feasibility was also at a very high level, with a mean of 4.87 and a standard deviation of 0.01. In addition, the component receiving the highest ratings was social and cross-cultural skills, whereas productivity and accountability received the lowest ratings, although both remained at a very high level. The findings indicate that life and career skills are essential foundations for preparing primary school students to live, learn, and adapt effectively in the 21st century. The identified components may serve as a practical framework for curriculum development, instructional design, and learner development in ways that are responsive to school contexts and Thai society.
