Abstract

The purposes of this research were to 1) Develop a group counseling program to enhance coping with bullying of early adolescents; 2) Compare the effect of using the program in an experimental group in the pre-experiment and post-experiment follow-up; and 3) Compare the effect of using the program in an experimental group and a control group in the pre-experiment and post-experiment follow-up. The sample of research involved 16 secondary school students who were selected by purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using statistical methods, including one-way ANOVA with repeated measures and the independent samples t-test. The findings were as follows: 1) The group counseling program integrates theories and counseling techniques from various counseling approaches. These include cognitive-focused theories such as cognitive-behavioral counseling and rational-emotive behavior counseling, as well as behavior-focused theories like reality therapy. Techniques emphasizing the regulation of negative emotions, such as deep breathing techniques and stabilization techniques, are also applied. The program comprised three stages: The beginning stage, the counseling process stage, and the termination stage. 2) The experimental group showed statistically significant improvements in overall coping with bullying and all sub-dimensions compared to the control group at the 0.01 level across the pre-test, post-test, and follow-up stages. 3) The experimental group showed statistically significant improvements in overall coping with bullying and all sub-dimensions compared to the pre-test, post-test, and follow-up stages at the 0.01 level.
