GUIDELINES FOR INTERNAL EDUCATION QUALITY ASSURANCE ACCORDING TO NATIONAL STANDARD FOR EARLY CHILDHOOD CARE, DEVELOPMENT AND EDUCATION THAILAND 2019 IN THUNG SONG DISTRICT, NAKHON SI THAMMARAT PROVINCE

Abstract

The objective of this research is 1) to study the current state of internal quality assurance in education, 2) to study the guidelines for internal quality assurance in accordance with the National Standard for Early Childhood Care, Development and Education Thailand, and 3) to propose guidelines for internal quality assurance in education in accordance with the National Standard for Early Childhood Care, Development and Education Thailand. This research utilizes a qualitative research methodology and collects data through in-depth interviews with 15 relevant individuals, including 5 key informants and a group discussion with 7 experts. The data is analyzed by thematic analysis. The research findings indicate that 1) The operation is conducted according to the process and regulations of quality assurance in education. It has been found that there are problems with the development of education plans being delayed, lack of participation, and few educational personnel who understand the internal quality assurance system. There is no systematic data collection, and there is a lack of evidence in the self-evaluation report preparation process. 2) Internal Quality Assurance Guidelines for Early Childhood Development Centers according to the National Early Childhood Development Center Standards, consisting of 7 steps. 1) Establish educational standards 2) Develop an educational development plan 3) Implement according to the plan 4) Evaluate and verify the quality of education 5) Monitor the results of the implementation to improve the quality of the early childhood development center. 6) Record information on the early childhood development information system according to national standards, prepare self-evaluation reports, and submit them. 7) Use the evaluation results to continuously improve and develop the center's operations according to the PDCA cycle. At each step of the process, the activities are carried out in accordance with the National Standard for Early Childhood Care, Development and Education Thailand. 3) The experts have reviewed the internal quality assurance guidelines in accordance with the National Standard for Early Childhood Care, Development and Education Thailand and found that in group discussions, the experts agreed that the guidelines were appropriate, feasible, and beneficial and could be implemented.
