A COMPARISION OF SELF-LEARNING WITH ONLINE TEACHING METHODS AND LEARING SATISFACTION IN METERNAL AND NEWBORN NURSING AND MIDWIFERY II COURSE

Abstract

This article aims to study the comparison of self-learning with online teaching methods and learning satisfaction in Maternal and Newborn Nursing and Midwifery II course and to study satisfaction with teaching and learning management with online in Maternal and Newborn Nursing and Midwifery II course. This is quasi-experimental research with a One group Pre-Posttest design. The population is 83 graduate nursing students in the 3rd year of the academic year 2021, who are studying in the program of Maternal and Newborn Nursing and Midwifery II course. The research instruments consisted of a personal data questionnaire, self-directed learning test, and satisfaction survey for online teaching management in the Maternal and Newborn Nursing and Midwifery II course. Data were analyzed using statistical dependent t-test, Paired Sample T-test. The results show that the score of self-learning of the students in post-test was at a high level ( = 4.40, S.D. = 0.55) than pre-test ( = 3.89, S.D. = 0.45) of significantly. The overall satisfaction scores of online teachings and learning in Maternal and Newborn Nursing and Midwifery II course was at a high level (  = 4.36, S.D. = 0.51). Therefore, in teaching and learning in the current situation that cannot be taught in the classroom, emphasis should be placed on encouraging students to learn on their own. As a teacher, you will use support. This includes the requirement to monitor and evaluate teaching and learning management to obtain learning outcomes that are consistent with the course.
