THE STRATEGIES FOR SCHOOL DEVELOPMENT TO PROFESSIONAL LEARNING COMMUNITY UNDER THE OFFICE OF PRACHUAP KHIRI KHAN PRIMARY EDUCATIONAL SERVICE AREA

Abstract

The purposes of this research were to: 1) study components of school development to professional learning community, 2) study the current situation and desirable conditions of school development to professional learning community and 3) develop strategies for school development to professional learning community under the Office of Prachuap Khiri Khan Primary Educational Service Area. The sample group consisted of administrators and teachers in schools under the Office of Prachuap Khiri Khan Primary Educational Service Area with the total number of 307. The research instruments were scale questionnaire with Index of Item–Objective Congruence (IOC) value of 0.80-1.00 and reliability at 0.960. The statistics used in data analysis included percentage, mean, standard deviation, PNI modified.

          The research results were found that:

1. The components of school development to professional learning community under the Office of Prachuap Khiri Khan Primary Educational Service Area consisted of 6 components as follows: 1) Shared vision, 2) Shared leadership, 3) Collaborative teamwork, 4) Caring community, 5) Organizational culture and 6) Professional learning and development.


2. The current situation of school development to professional learning community under the Office of Prachuap Khiri Khan Primary Educational Service Area, on a whole, was rated at a moderate level, when considering in each aspect, it was found that the current practical situation was rated at a moderate level in all aspects and the desirable conditions of school development to professional learning community under the Office of Prachuap Khiri Khan Primary Educational Service Area, on a whole, were rated at the highest level, when considering in each aspect, it was found that the desirable conditions were rated at the highest level in all aspects.

          3. The strategies for school development to professional learning community under the Office of Prachuap Khiri Khan Primary Educational Service Area consisted of 6 strategies namely: The 1^st strategy: Enhancing shared vision to learning community, the  2^nd strategy: Promoting shared leadership, the 3^rd strategy: Promoting and developing collaborative teamwork, the 4^th strategy: Enhancing caring community, the 5^th strategy: Enhancing quality of organizational culture, the  6^th strategy: Promoting professional learning and development and evaluation results of strategies for school development to professional learning community under the Office of Prachuap Khiri Khan Primary Educational Service Area showed that they had propriety, feasibility and utility and were rated at the highest level in all aspects.
