Abstract

         The research on “Developing and increasing the value of silk products in Surin Province according to the creative economy concept” aims to develop and increase the value of silk products in Surin Province according to the concept of the creative economy by using a qualitative research process. Data were collected using surveys, structured interviews and a workshop process in which key informants comprised community leaders. Silk product groups and people in the community are interested in silk production in the research area; the expertise, experience, and knowledge about silk selected 50 people from the random purposive method. The data were analyzed by descriptive analysis and descriptive analysis by considering the consistency of the opinions and the likelihood of the information of the participants in the focus group according to the concept of creative economy. The research showed that Ban Na Tang silk product group, Kwaew Sirin District, Surin Province, featured natural and indigo dyeing. The way to develop and increase product value is to dye indigo so that the colour is easy to stick and the colour does not fade by using the innovation of cationic substances. The prototype product was natural tie-dyed fabric and indigo dyeing with cationic dyes to make the fresh indigo colour less easily dyed. It is an increase in community tourism activities and a learning base for tourists to use as souvenirs and souvenirs. The highlight of the silk product group in Sawai Subdistrict, Mueang District, Surin Province, is natural dyeing and homegrown silk threads. The way to develop products and increase product value is natural dyeing and tie-dyeing into various patterns, along with using silk proteins that have been utilized. The prototype products obtained are natural tie-dyed fabrics and silk protein soaps that can be developed into souvenirs, community tourism activities and learning bases in the community, resulting in the potential of the community in the creative economy leading to community development in the dimension of the creative economy.
