บทคัดย่อ

ภูมิหลังและวัตถุประสงค์: การวางแผนภาษีเงินได้นิติบุคคลถือเป็นกลยุทธ์เชิงองค์กรที่สำคัญในการลดภาระภาษีและเพิ่มผลตอบแทนหลังภาษีแก่ผู้ถือหุ้น อย่างไรก็ตาม งานวิจัยในบริบทตลาดทุนไทยยังขาดการศึกษาที่อธิบายลักษณะการใช้ REM ร่วมกับการวางแผนภาษีของบริษัทจดทะเบียน โดยเฉพาะการเชื่อมโยงเชิงทฤษฎีระหว่าง Tax Avoidance Behavior และ Real Activities Manipulation ภายใต้กรอบ Agency Theory และ Political Cost Hypothesis อย่างเป็นระบบ การวิจัยนี้ จึงมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อตรวจสอบความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างการวางแผนภาษีเงินได้นิติบุคคลและ REM ของบริษัทจดทะเบียนในตลาดหลักทรัพย์แห่งประเทศไทย

ระเบียบวิธีวิจัย: การศึกษาใช้ข้อมูลทุติยภูมิของบริษัทจดทะเบียนช่วงปี พ.ศ. 2559–2562 วิเคราะห์ด้วยแบบจำลองการถดถอยพหุคูณภาคตัดขวาง โดยวัดการวางแผนภาษีด้วย ETR และ CETR และวัด REM ผ่านตัวแปรแทน 4 ประเภท ได้แก่ กระแสเงินสดจากการดำเนินงานที่ผิดปกติ (R_CFO) ต้นทุนการผลิตที่ผิดปกติ (R_PROD) ค่าใช้จ่ายตามดุลยพินิจที่ผิดปกติ (R_EXP) และกำไรจากการจำหน่ายสินทรัพย์ที่ผิดปกติ (R_GAIN) โดยให้น้ำหนักหลักแก่ R_EXP และ R_GAIN ในฐานะตัวแปรแทนที่สะท้อนพฤติกรรม REM ที่เชื่อมโยงกับการวางแผนภาษีได้อย่างมีนัยสำคัญ

ผลการวิจัย: ผลการศึกษาพบว่า R_EXP และ R_GAIN มีความสัมพันธ์เชิงลบอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติกับทั้ง ETR และ CETR สะท้อนพฤติกรรมของผู้บริหารในการลดค่าใช้จ่ายตามดุลยพินิจและกำหนดจังหวะเวลาการจำหน่ายสินทรัพย์เชิงกลยุทธ์เพื่อเพิ่มกำไรทางบัญชีควบคู่กับการลดภาระภาษีพร้อมกัน ขณะที่ R_CFO และ R_PROD ไม่มีความสัมพันธ์อย่างมีนัยสำคัญ เนื่องจากมีต้นทุนทางเศรษฐกิจสูงกว่า นอกจากนี้ MNF แสดงความสัมพันธ์ระหว่าง REM กับการวางแผนภาษีในระดับที่เข้มข้นกว่าบริษัทในประเทศ โดยเฉพาะผ่านช่องทาง R_EXP และ R_PROD ทั้งนี้ ผลการวิจัยทั้งหมดเป็นหลักฐานเชิงความสัมพันธ์ (Associational Evidence) มิใช่การอนุมานเชิงสาเหตุ เนื่องจากการออกแบบวิจัยภาคตัดขวางไม่รองรับการสรุปเชิงสาเหตุ

สรุปผล: การศึกษานี้ ให้ข้อค้นพบที่เป็นประโยชน์แก่หน่วยงานกำกับดูแล ผู้สอบบัญชี และนักลงทุนในการประเมินคุณภาพกำไรและความเสี่ยงด้านภาษีของบริษัทจดทะเบียนในตลาดทุนไทย และเสริมองค์ความรู้เชิงทฤษฎีเกี่ยวกับจุดบรรจบระหว่าง Tax Avoidance Behavior และ Real Activities Manipulation ในบริบทตลาดทุนเกิดใหม่
