ภูมิหลังวัตถุประสงค์: การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์ 1) เพื่อศึกษาระดับการมีส่วนร่วมของประชาชนในการจัดการขยะมูลฝอยในเขตพญาไท กรุงเทพมหานคร และ 2) เพื่อเปรียบเทียบ เพศ อายุ อาชีพ และรายได้เฉลี่ยต่อเดือน และระยะเวลาอาศัยอยู่ในพื้นที่ กับการมีส่วนร่วมของประชาชนในการจัดการขยะมูลฝอยในเขตพญาไท กรุงเทพมหานคร
ระเบียบวิธีการวิจัย: รูปแบบการวิจัยเป็นการวิจัยเชิง ปริมาณ กลุ่มตัวอย่าง คือ ประชาชนที่มีอายุ 18 ปีขึ้นไป ในเขตพญาไท กรุงเทพมหานคร จำนวน 400 คน และ สุ่มแบบง่าย โดยใช้เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการเก็บรวบรวมข้อมูลคือ แบบสอบถาม สถิติที่ใช้การวิเคราะห์ข้อมูล ได้แก่ ความถี่ ร้อยละ ค่าเฉลี่ย ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน และการวิเคราะห์ความแปรปรวนทางเดียว ขนาดกลุ่มตัวอย่างในการวิจัยใช้สูตรยามาเน่ เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัยคือ แบบสอบถามเกี่ยวกับการมีส่วนร่วมของประชาชในการจัดการขยะมูลฝอยในเขตพญาไท กรุงเทพมหานคร ผ่านการตรวจสอบคุณภาพ เครื่องมือ มีความเชื่อมั่นเท่ากับ .96
ผลการวิจัย: 1. ประชาชนในเขตพญาไท กรุงเทพมหานคร มีระดับการมีส่วนร่วมในการจัดการขยะมูลฝอยในภาพรวมอยู่ในระดับมากที่สุด (ค่าเฉลี่ย = 4.21) โดยการมีส่วนร่วมในการประเมินผล มีค่าเฉลี่ยสูงที่สุด ( ค่าเฉลี่ย= 4.58) รองลงมา คือ การมีส่วนร่วมในการตัดสินใจ การมีส่วนร่วมในการปฏิบัติ และการมีส่วนร่วมในการร่วมรับผลประโยชน์ ตามลำดับ 2) การเปรียบเทียบการมีส่วนร่วมของประชาชนในการจัดการขยะมูลฝอยในเขตพญาไท กรุงเทพมหานคร จำแนกตาม เพศ อายุ ระดับการศึกษา อาชีพ รายได้ต่อเดือน และระยะเวลาอาศัยอยู่ในพื้นที่ ผลการศึกษาพบว่า ปัจจัยส่วนบุคคลได้แก่ เพศ อายุ ระดับการศึกษา อาชีพ และระยะเวลาอาศัยในพื้นที่ที่ต่างกัน มีส่วนร่วมของประชาชนในการจัดการขยะมูลฝอยในเขตพญาไท กรุงเทพมหานครไม่แตกต่างกัน ซึ่งปฏิเสธสมมติฐานการวิจัย ส่วนรายได้เฉลี่ยต่อเดือน พบความแตกต่างกันอย่างมีนัยสำคัญ ซึ่งพบว่ารายได้ต่ำกว่า 15,000 บาท แตกต่างจากรายได้ 30,000 – 35,001 และ รายได้ 15, 001– 20,000 บาท แตกต่างจาก รายได้ 30,000 – 35,001 บาท ต่อระดับการมีส่วนร่วมในการจัดการขยะมูลฝอย ซึ่งยอมรับสมมติฐานการวิจัย
