Factors of Community Relations Affecting the Operational Effectiveness of Student Caring System of Schools under the Office of Primary Education Service Area in Udon Thani Province

Abstract

Background and Aims: The collaboration between schools and communities is beneficial to both parties. The educational institutions gain power from the community to help manage education, and the communities gain education that is in line with the needs of the community. Therefore, this research aims to 1) Study the components and indicators of community relationship factors of educational institutions, 2) Study the community relationship factors of educational institutions, 3) Study the effectiveness of the implementation of the student care system of educational institutions, 4) Study the relationship between the community relationship factors of educational institutions and the effectiveness of the student care system and 5) Create an equation to predict the community relationship factors that affect the effectiveness of the implementation of the student care system under the Udon Thani Primary Educational Service Area Office.

Methodology: This research is mixed methods research. The research design is a sequential exploratory design consisting of qualitative and quantitative methods. It is divided into 2 phases as follows: Phase 1: Study of components and indicators of community relations factors, study of excellent practices by in-depth interviews with administrators and teachers in educational institutions, and the components and indicators of community relations factors are confirmed by experts. The research instruments are interviews and a form to confirm components with indicators of community relations factors. Phase 2: Study of community relations factors of educational institutions. The sample group is 363 teachers using a simple random sampling method. The research instrument is a 5-level rating scale questionnaire. In part 2, the community relations factors of educational institutions have a reliability of .973. In part 3, the effectiveness of the student care system of educational institutions has a reliability of .942. The statistics used for data analysis are frequency distribution, percentage, mean, standard deviation, Pearson's product-moment correlation coefficient, and stepwise multiple regression analysis.

Results: 1. Community relationship factors of educational institutions consist of 4 components and 26 indicators, consisting of: 1) Community participation components, consisting of 7 indicators 2) Community service components, consisting of 7 indicators 3) Support for school activities, consisting of 7 indicators and 4) Public relations components, consisting of 5 indicators 2. Community relationship factors of educational institutions under the Udon Thani Primary Education Service Area Office are at a high level. 3. The effectiveness of the student care system implementation of educational institutions under the Udon Thani Primary Education Service Area Office is at a high level. 4. Community relationship factors and the effectiveness of the student care system implementation of educational institutions under the Udon Thani Primary Education Service Area Office are related. 5. The prediction equation for the effectiveness of the student care system implementation of educational institutions under the Udon Thani Primary Education Service Area Office, using the community relationship factor as a predictive variable, has a predictive power of 70.50 percent, with the following equations: The prediction equation in the form of raw scores is as follows: \widehat{Y} = 1.670 + .643 (X3) and the prediction equation in the form of standard scores, \widehat{Z} = .840 (X3).

Conclusion: Community relationship factors of educational institutions are related to the effectiveness of student care system operations of educational institutions under the Udon Thani Primary Educational Service Area Office and affect the effectiveness of student care system operations of educational institutions under the Udon Thani Primary Educational Service Area Office.
