พฤติกรรมการอ่านของนิสิตระดับปริญญาตรี มหาวิทยาลัยพะเยา

Abstract

การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาพฤติกรรมการอ่าน ความสนใจในการอ่าน ปัจจัยที่เกี่ยวข้องกับการอ่าน และทัศนคติต่อการอ่านของนิสิตมหาวิทยาลัยพะเยา โดยใช้แบบสอบถามเป็นเครื่องมือหลัก ประชากรที่ใช้ในการวิจัยได้แก่ นิสิตมหาวิทยาลัยพะเยาชั้นปีที่ 1 - 4 ภาคปกติที่ลงทะเบียนเรียนในภาคการศึกษาที่ 2/2553 จำนวน 9,680 คน ใช้กลุ่มตัวอย่างจำนวนร้อยละ 5 คิดเป็นกลุ่มตัวอย่างจำนวนกลุ่มตัวอย่าง 484 คน วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโดยใช้โปรแกรมสำเร็จรูปประมวลผลข้อมูลและวิเคราะห์หาค่าร้อยละ ค่าเฉลี่ย ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน ค่า t-test และ one way ANOVA

ผลการวิจัยพบว่าผู้ตอบแบบสอบถามส่วนใหญ่เป็นเพศหญิง กำลังศึกษาในคณะศิลปศาสตร์ชั้นปีที่ 1 มีระดับคะแนนสะสมเฉลี่ยระหว่าง 2.51 - 3.00 พักอยู่หอพักนอกมหาวิทยาลัย ในด้านความสนใจการอ่านและพฤติกรรมการอ่านพบว่า นิสิตใช้อินเทอร์เน็ตและสนใจอ่านสิ่งพิมพ์จากอินเทอร์เน็ตมากที่สุด มีวัตถุประสงค์ในการอ่านเพื่อความเพลิดเพลิน ใช้เวลาอ่านหนังสือเรียนวันละประมาณ 1 - 2 ชั่วโมง อ่านสิ่งพิมพ์อื่น ๆ วันละ 30 นาที - 1 ชั่วโมง นิสิตนิยมอ่านสิ่งพิมพ์ในบริเวณที่พักอาศัย สนใจสื่อสิ่งพิมพ์ประเภทต่าง ๆ ในภาพรวมอยู่ในระดับปานกลาง ยกเว้นสิ่งพิมพ์ประเภทข่าวที่ให้ความสนใจในระดับมาก

การวิเคราะห์ปัจจัยที่เกี่ยวข้องกับการอ่าน พบว่าผู้ปกครองของนิสิตส่วนใหญ่จบการศึกษาระดับประถมศึกษา ประกอบอาชีพเกษตรกรรม มีรายได้ต่อเดือนต่ำกว่า 10,000 บาท ทางบ้านของนิสิตส่วนใหญ่ไม่เคยซื้อหนังสือพิมพ์ วารสารและนิตยสาร ตลอดจนหนังสืออ่านเล่น ในด้านกลุ่มเพื่อน พบว่านิสิตมีความคิดเห็นต่อกลุ่มเพื่อนเกี่ยวกับการอ่านสื่อสิ่งพิมพ์ในระดับปานกลาง ส่วนประสบการณ์ส่งเสริมการอ่านจากทางบ้านและจากสถาบันการศึกษา อยู่ในระดับปานกลาง นอกจากนี้ยังพบว่านิสิตมีทัศนคติต่อการอ่านอยู่ในระดับปานกลาง

Reading Behavior of Undergraduate Students of University of Phayao

This research aims at studying habits of reading, interest in reading, factors of reading and attitudes toward reading of students in the University of Phayao. Questionnaires were used as the main tool to collect data. The population are the 1-4 year students enrolled in Semester 2 / 2553, numbering 9,680 students out of which an amount of 5% was selected, resulting 484 students as the sample. The data were analyzed by using package software. The statistics used were percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, and one way ANOVA.

The results showed that most respondents were 1^st year female students in the School of Liberal Arts with grade point average between 2.51 to 3.00 and staying outside the campus. For interest in reading and reading habits, it is found that students mostly spent their free time using the Internet and reading the digital materials. They mostly read for pleasure. The time spent a day for the textbooks is about 1-2 hours and for other publications for 30 minutes - 1 hour. They usually read in off-campus residential areas. Their interest in different types of publications is in the moderate level, whereas interest in news is in a higher level.

For factors of reading, it is found that most parents of students completed primary education, doing agriculture with monthly income of less than 10,000 Baht. Majority of the students’ parents have neither bought any newspaper, journal, magazine, book, nor pocket book. For the friend group, it is found that the students ranked their friends who read publications in the moderate level. Promotion for reading from home and educational institutions is in the moderate level. It is also found that students’ attitudes toward reading are at the moderate level.
