  • Research Ethics Involving Human Participants

    2023-10-10

Research and experimentation involving human participants have contributed significantly to the advancement of knowledge and scientific development. Although research in the social sciences, behavioral sciences, and humanities is generally considered to pose minimal physical risk to participants, it may nevertheless cause potential harm to their psychological well-being, social status, financial circumstances, employment, or legal standing.

Research involving human participants should adhere to internationally recognized research ethics standards and fundamental ethical principles to ensure that participants are appropriately protected. Research that complies with fundamental ethical principles is based on three core principles:

    1. Respect for Persons
    2. Beneficence and Non-maleficence
    3. Justice

Therefore, researchers should carefully consider research ethics involving human participants when preparing manuscripts for submission to the journal. Compliance with appropriate ethical standards helps ensure the protection of research participants, credibility, and ethical integrity of the research.

Please indicate the Human Research Ethics Approval Number in the “Research Methodology” section of the manuscript, where applicable.
