Abstract

The objectives of this research were to study metaphorical expressions about love concept in the lyrics of Thongchai Mcintyre. Also, the data was collected from 2007 to 2013. There are a total of 193 songs. There were 5 conceptual metaphors in this study, such as [LOVE IS NATURE], [LOVE IS INVENTION/BUILDING], [LOVE IS EDUCATION], [LOVE IS GAME / COMPETITION] and [LOVE IS ACCESSORIES / CLOTHES] Furthermore, all these concepttual metaphors also reveal that love is a basic of Human and love requires complex learning and care.
