Abstract

The purposes of this research were: 1) to compare the grade-7 students’ mathematical learning achievement on Linear equation of one variable between before and after learning through Active Learning and 7-step learning cycle, 2) to compare the grade-7 students’ mathematical learning achievement on Linear equation of one variable after learning through Active Learning and 7-step learning cycle with the passing criteria of 70 percent, and 3) to study the students’ satisfaction with the learning management process after learning using Active learning and 7-step learning cycle. The sample was 30 students in grade 7 enrolling in the second semester of 2020 academic year at Katekantangsongkraw 5 (Trikamsithisil) School, Buriram. The sample was obtained through cluster random sampling technique from 2 classrooms. The research instruments were a lesson plan on Linear equation of one variable by using Active learning and 7-step learning cycle, achievement tests, and a satisfaction questionnaire.

The results indicated that: 1) the students’ post-test score of mathematical learning achievement on Linear equation of one variable after learning through Active Learning and 7-step learning cycle was higher than their pre-test score at the statistical significance level of .01,  2) the students’ mathematical learning achievement score on Linear equation of one variable for students in grade7 after using Active learning and 7-step learning cycle was higher than the passing criterion of 70 percent with the statistical significance level of .01, and 3) the score of the students’ satisfaction with the learning management process after learning using Active learning and 7-step learning cycle was at the good level.
