Abstract

The purpose of this study was to compare the effects of warm – up with TRX suspension and with dynamic stretching on energy expenditure of body extremities among male and female swimmers in different body mass index. Participants were 32 young swimmers aged 12-15 years, they were requested to wear ActiGraph GT9X accelerometer on their right and left wrist, waist, right and left ankle. Then they performed warm – up with TRX suspension and with dynamic stretching. Energy expenditure was recorded and used to analyze between gender and different BMI classification.

The results showed that dynamic stretching used energy expenditure in greater than in TRX suspension. Gender and BMI had correlated with energy expenditure in both warm-up methods.
