Abstract
The objectives of this research were to study the health knowledge of type 2 diabetic patients and to compare the health knowledge among different sex, age and education, collected data from the respondents came to hospital belongs to Bangkok Metropolitan Administration. Multi-stage random sampling was used and the sample size was 498. The researcher used the ABCDE-Health Literacy Scale of Thai Adults developed by Health Education Division (HED) and adjusted it to the content related to type 2 diabetic patients. The content validity was 0.87 and the reliability was tested among 30 type 2 diabetic patients resemble the sample. The reliability of the questionnaire in section 2 of the questionnaire’s reliability was calculated by Richardson’s alpha coefficient and found that it was 0.71. The section 3 and 4 was calculated by Cronbach’s alpha coefficient and found that it was 0.76. The data were analyzed using percentage, mean, standard deviation. T-test and F-test were used to compare the differences of means. When the differences of means were statistically significant at 0.05, the researcher did Post hoc test using LSD.
