Abstract

The objective this research was: 1) to study methods for applying the sufficiency economy philosophy to adaptation of local communities under the current economic context; 2) to study and analyze methods for applying the sufficiency economy philosophy to Local community economic development 3) to study the success factors of applying the sufficiency economy philosophy to community economic development. The sample are the people who gathered as a community economic group in Nong Han District, Udon Thani Province, 30 people, including representatives from the community economic groups of the 5 sub-districts, 6 people each. Method of data collection made by in-depth interview participatory observation and documentary research.

The research findings were as follows:

  1. The sample group had a community plan to set to increase income, reduce production costs and livelihood.
  2. A community capital system has been developed in the form of a community bank. There is a community enterprise, the community has inherited local wisdom.
  3. There is a network of partnerships at the community level to set rules in the community and 5 principles of virtue: being honest with each other sacrifice for the community shared responsibility mutual sympathy and mutual trust.
