Abstract

The research objectives were 1) to study the level of political participation of people. 2) to analyze economic and social factors political interests affecting political participation of citizens and 3) to present guidelines for developing political participation of people in Ratchaburi Province. The research methodology used a mixed research method, for quantitative research method, data were collected by questionnaire of 339 people using Taro Yamane's sample formula and statistics used included mean, standard deviation, and multiple regression analysis, for qualitative research methods using interviews key informants including sheriffs of 15 persons, it was a purposively selected.

The research found, according the objectives that 1) political participation of people was at a high level (=3.88, S.D.=0.915) 2) the level of political participation of people was found that the average level of opinions of respondents was at a high level (=3.88,S.D.=0.617) And factors affecting overall political participation, Social membership(X1), occupations(X4), Attending political meetings (X9), Taking time to help campaign (X10), and Apply for election (X12), respectively, with a regression coefficient of 0.615, 0.612, 0.512, 0.415, and 0.315, and with a prediction coefficient (R2) of 0.757, able to predict the results 75.7 percent, with statistical significance at the level. 05. It could be written the multiple regression analysis equation in raw score as =5.632+0.615(X1)+ 0.612(X4)+0.512(X9)+0.415(X10)+0.323(X12), and the equation in standard score with coefficient values of 0.618, 0.541, 0.524, 0.422, and 0.323, respectively. In addition, the people and government officials should play a role only in providing support in organizing elections by facilitating the location and the safety of the people. You should remain neutral. Providing political knowledge in the manner of an academic, being the representative of the people in dealing with government affairs across administrative boundaries and facilitate journalists which expresses support for public politics.
