THE DEVELOPMENT OF MONTESSORI-BESED TEACHING ENHANCEMENT PROGRAM FOR EARLY CHILDHOOD TEACHERS BUENG KAN PRIMARY EDUCATIONAL SERVICE AREA

Abstract

The objectives of this research are 1) to study the early childhood teachers’ current state, desired state, and needs of Montessori-based teaching in Bueng Kan Primary Educational Service Area and 2) to design and develop the Montessori-based teaching enhancement program for the early childhood teachers. There were 2 phases in this research. The first phase was to study the early childhood teachers’ current state, desired state, and needs of Montessori-based teaching in Bueng Kan Primary Educational Service Area. The 118 representative samples consisted of school administrators, teacher mentors, educational personnel and early childhood teachers in schools with Montessori-based teaching. The academic year was 2566. The samples were derived by stratified sampling method and the district areas were used as the strata. The research instrument was questionnaire, interview, and the evaluation form of the program. Data was analyzed by using the ready-made program and statistic: percent, mean, and standard deviation. The second phase was to design and develop the Montessori-based teaching enhancement program for the early childhood teachers in Bueng Kan Primary Educational Service Area. The results of the research were as follows:

  1. The overall level of current state of Montessori-based teaching of early childhood teachers in Bueng Kan Primary Educational Service Area was high. The characteristics of Montessori teacher was at the highest level. And The overall level of desired state of Montessori-based teaching of early childhood teachers in Bueng Kan Primary Educational Service Area was highest. The skills of Montessori teacher was at the highest level.
  2. The evaluation of the Montessori-based teaching enhancement program for early childhood teachers in Bueng Kan Primary Educational Service Area revealed that the overall suitability of the program was at a high level. The possibility was at the highest level. The accuracy was at a high level. And the usefulness was at a high level.
