Abstract

The study of sustainable agrotourism development guidelines of Mueang Ang Village, Ban Luang Sub-district, Chom Thong District, Chiang Mai Province aimed at exploring and analyzing potential of agritourism in Mueang Ang Village, putting agrotourism activities into practice (FAM trip) through participation of local network members, and proposing sustainable agrotourism development developed from a focus group discussion under workshop training program named ‘Appreciation Influence Control’ (AIC). The potential of agrotourism in Mueang Ang Village shows as follows. The tourist attractiveness is terraced rice field and pesticide-free vegetable production system. The tourism activity is the study trip on organic farming under the promotion of the Royal Project Foundation Doi Inthanon of organic vegetable farming for a model organic village. The village is accessible within ten kilometres of the main road. The fundamental public utility in Mueang Ang Village is available as tourism amenities. For accommodation, three sample houses for one to three people can be serviced and are prompted to be developed to be an actual tourist accommodation in the future. To propose the sustainable agrotourism development guidelines of Mueang Ang Village, the suggestions focus on the establishment of tourism group for management, income distribution, administrative transparency and acknowledged rules and regulations setup, the continuity in tourism amenities development for agrotourism attractions, the development of variety of tourism activities, and the promotion channels and sale opportunity seeking to increase village income, especially based on agrotourism activities.
