Developing reading comprehension abilities of grade 5 students using the 5W1H technique

The objectives of this research were 1) to develop reading comprehension abilities. of Grade 5 students using the effective 5W1H technique according to the 80/80 criteria. 2) 2) Comparison of reading comprehension ability between pre-school and post-study of grade 5 students using 5W1H technique. and 3) to study the satisfaction of Prathomsuksa 5 students towards the 5W1H learning management process. The sample group used in this research was grade 5 students. 28 students studying in the second semester of the academic year 2021 at Ban Nong Noi Dam School Maha Sarakham Province This research was conducted using a single-group pre-study and post-study test model. The research instruments were 6 learning management plans, 20 multiple choice reading comprehension tests, and the student satisfaction rating. The learning management consisted of 10 items. The statistics used in the data analysis were percentage, mean, standard deviation. and the statistic used to test the hypothesis is t - test (Dependent Sample).
The results showed that 1) the learning management by using the 5W1H technique in grade 5 had an efficiency equal to 85.78/85.45, higher than the set criteria of 80/80; 2) the students had the ability to read comprehension after studying Using problem-based learning activities with 5W1H technique was statistically significantly higher than before at .05 level. 3) The students were satisfied with learning by using the 5W1H technique. Overall, it was at the highest level (X = 4.53 , S.D. = 0.10).
