Abstract

                        The purposes of this research were (1) to study the leadership of the major of Maha Sarakham Provincial Administrative Organization as the opinion of the personnel (2) to compare the opinion of the personnel classified by gender, educational level, period of work performance and type of personnel towards the leadership of the major of Maha Sarakham Provincial Administrative Organization and (3) to study their suggestions to improve the leadership of the major of Maha Sarakham Provincial Administrative Organization. The samples of the quantitative research were 179 personnel of Maha Sarakham Provincial Administrative Organization calculated by Taro Yamane’s formula and selected through stratified and simple random samplings. The instrument utilized in the research was a five rating scale questionnaire with 0.90 of reliability. The statistics encompassed frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation and referential statistics of t-test and One way ANOVA (F- test) with the statistic significant level at.05. and interview 12 key persons for qualitative research.

          The results of the research were as follows ;       

 1) The leadership of the major of Maha Sarakham Provincial Administrative Organization as the opinion of the personnel as a whole was rated at high level. As considered by aspects, two aspects were rated at the highest level and the other three were rated at high level placed in descending order of each mean were the strategic leadership, the charismatic leadership, the social transformational leadership, the transformational leadership and the visionary leadership,

 2) The comparison of the leadership of the major of Maha Sarakham Provincial Administrative Organization as the opinion of the personnel classified by gender,educational level, period of work performance and type of personnel as overall resulted no difference.

 3) The three highest frequency of suggestions were as follows; The local wisdom curriculum should be established in the schools under the administration of Maha Sarakham Provincial Administrative Organization.There should be administrative consultants for the important decision making that reflected upon the people and the personnel should be stimulated in administration and work performance that related to the transformation effectively.
