Development of Shipping Database System of Private Transport Systems Case Study of an Electrical Equipment Distribution Company

Abstract

The objectives of this research were to (1) study the condition and problems of the transportation management process. (2) develop shipping database system of private transport systems. (3) evaluate the use of shipping database system of private transport systems. This study shows that it is difficult to verify shipping information because the company uses a manual note for collect data. It resulted in wasting time for research data. The research was a descriptive research by interviewing the head of the shipping department and delivery personnel to understand the shipping process and design flow chart. The researcher design and develop database system with Microsoft Access 2016 program. The researcher use the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) to develop a delivery database of private transport system. The study also shows that the system can store data, edit data, save data, delete data, and search for data that meets user needs. Assessment results from the head of the shipping department and delivery personnel with a total average of 4.22, at a very good level
