The Development of English Speaking and Writing Abilities of Grade 12 Students Using Creativity-Based Learning with ClassDojo Application

Abstract
The objectives of this research was to develop students’ English speaking and writing abilities using creativity-based learning with ClassDojo Application. The target group consisted of 43 grade 12 students in Khonkaenwittayayon School, Muang Khon Kaen District, Khon Kaen, using purposive sampling. Three-circle action research was used as a research methodology. The instruments consisted of: research operational tools such as six creativity-based learning with ClassDojo lesson plans totaling 12 instructional hours; research reflection tools research reflection tools such as a lesson plan record form, a behavioral observation form, a learning activity observation form, a students’ interview form, an end-of-spiral English speaking ability assessment test, and an end-of-spiral English writing ability assessment test; and research assessment tools consisting of an English speaking test and an English writing test. The quantitative data was analyzed using mean, standard deviation, and percentage. The qualitative data was analyzed using content analysis. The findings found that: 1) The mean score of students' speaking skills was 11.37, or 75.78 percent of the full score, and 35 students, or 81.40 percent, passed the criterion, which was higher than the prescribed criterion. 2) The mean score of writing skill was 11.83, or 78.86 percent of the full score, and 33 students, or 76.74 percent of them, passed the criterion, which was higher than the prescribed criterion.
