Abstract

This research examines factors in tourism area management that affect Thai tourists' decisions to participate in surfing activities in Phang Nga Province. The objective is to study tourism area management factors that influence Thai tourists' decisions to participate in surfing activities in Phang Nga Province. This is quantitative research. The sample group consisted of 400 Thai tourists participating in surfing activities in Phang Nga Province, selected using purposive sampling. The tool used for data collection was a questionnaire. Statistics used for data analysis included frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and multiple regression analysis. The research results found that factors related to participating in surfing activities, convenience of travel, facilities for participating in activities, and quality of services significantly affect Thai tourists' decisions to participate in surfing activities in Phang Nga Province at the .05 statistical significance level. Previous research has not examined tourism area management factors that affect decisions to participate in these activities. Therefore, the research results confirm that if tourism agencies can manage tourism areas effectively, they will be able to impress tourists, which will lead to repeat participation in surfing activities. Regarding policy recommendations, relevant agencies must manage tourism areas efficiently on a continuous basis and should coordinate with involved tourist attractions to create readiness for providing services to tourists participating in surfing activities.
