A Feasibility Study of Paper Packaging Business Start-up of Ruamjai Khlongsong Farm Women Group, Pathum Thani
This research aimed to study a feasibility of paper packaging business start-up of Ruamjai Khlongsong Farm Women Group, Pathum Thani. The qualitative was conducted as the methodology of this study by employing the action research. Moreover, the research instruments consisted of 1) documentary research 2) participant observation and 3) in-depth interview which consisted of three entrepreneurs in the packaging business, two managers or representatives of Farm Women Group, and two academics or professionals in the business field. The research results were categorized into four part as follows;
1) Production plan: the production was mainly employed the technology of machines, the members of the Farm Women Group and the people in the community, which were the main manpower of production. The production rate was 5,000 sheets per day. The marketing study by forecasting found that the buyers had the purchasing power at 4,000 – 7,000 sheets per day.
2) Marketing plan: the customer group selection was firstly based on the relationship between the Farm Women Group and the customer groups, and then based on the salespeople who were the members of the Farm Women Group and the community members in direct selling by focusing on the customers in Talad Thai and Simummuang Market, and the customers from other Farm Women Groups and organizations in Pathum Thani as well. The financial plan study found that the first investment was about 6,350,000 Baht by the investment sources consisted of three parts which were the investment from the Farm Women Group, the investment from the community funds and other government organizations.
3) Financial plan: the findings found that there were the loans from the financial institutions. In the first year, the sales revenue was about 2,078,680 Baht; in the second year was about 2,359,615 Baht; and in the third year was about 2,668,463 Baht. In addition, the payback period was within two and a half years.
4) Management plan: there were operated by the members of Farm Women Group and community which were mainly selected by focusing on the people who had the work experiences in each industrial type but unemployed due to the current economic conditions. Therefore, this study could generate the incomes for the Farm Women Group and the community where became a solid and sustainable community.
