Cultural Pluralism and Hybridity of Post-Colonial Philippine Society in The Post-War Literature: An Analysis of The Rosales Saga (1962-1984) by Francisco Sionil Jose

Abstract
This article presents the colonial power relations that dominate postcolonial societies, especially in the context of debates over cultural authenticity, hybridity and marginalization in the Philippines. It analyzes and interprets the postcolonial literary texts in the Philippines in the post-war period focusing on The Rosales Saga by Francisco Sionil Jose, the National Artist of the Philippines for Literature in 2001, through a postcolonial studies perspective in order to highlight the characteristics of cultural pluralism and hybridity in the experiences and identity of Filipinos. This perspective critiques and responds to colonial thought embedded in the official national identity of the post-war Philippines.
