บทคัดย่อ
วอดก้าเครื่องดื่มประจำชาติรัสเซีย เป็นส่วนหนึ่งของชีวิตและสังคมและมีความสำคัญกับสังคมรัสเซียถึงแม้ว่าชาวรัสเซียจะรู้จักวอดก้าไม่นาน แต่วอดก้าก็มีบทบาทและมีความสำคัญต่อการเมือง สังคม และวัฒนธรรมของชนชาติรัสเซียมาโดยตลอด วอดก้าเป็นเครื่องมือของผู้ปกครองในการสร้างรายได้ให้กับรัฐ อย่างไรก็ตามเครื่องดื่มแอลกอฮอล์ก็เป็นสาเหตุสำคัญของการตายของประชาชนชาวรัสเซีย ทำให้หลายครั้งผู้นำรัสเซียต้องออกนโยบายทำสงครามกับวอดก้าขึ้น ในที่สุดวอดก้าได้กลายมาเป็นประเด็นสำคัญในการรณรงค์หาเสียงสำหรับผู้ดำรงตำแหน่งประธานาธิบดีสหพันธรัฐรัสเซียหลายครั้ง โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งประเด็นที่ต้องเลือกระหว่างเศรษฐกิจและรายได้ของรัฐหรือสุขภาพของประชาชน
