Abstract

This academic article, "Developing Quality of Life through the Fourfold Meditation Principles According to Buddhist Philosophy," aims to study the Fourfold Meditation Principles and analyze their application in developing quality of life according to Buddhist philosophy. It considers four aspects of human development: body, behavior, mind, and wisdom. This study is documentary research, collecting data from the Tripitaka, books, textbooks, academic articles, and related documents. The content is then analyzed and synthesized, using the Fourfold Meditation Principles as a framework to analyze the relationship between the development of the body, behavior, mind, and wisdom and human life. The results show that the Fourfold Meditation Principles can be used as a systematic framework for developing quality of life. Physical meditation forms the basis for caring for the body and living appropriately within the environment. Moral meditation provides guidance for regulating behavior, fostering responsibility, and living harmoniously with others. Mental meditation cultivates mindfulness, mental stability, and the ability to manage emotions. Wisdom helps individuals to consider cause and effect, understand problems, and choose appropriate life paths. The four aspects are not separate but are interconnected and mutually supportive. The development of the body and behavior is fundamental, the development of the mind provides support, and the development of wisdom is a crucial mechanism for regulating life stably
