THAI POLITICAL PARTIES' STRATEGIES FOR USING ONLINE MEDIA IN ELECTION CAMPAIGNS

This academic article presented and analyzed the role of online media for political parties in the digital age in political communication. It was found that social media played a significant role in fostering participation and communication between political parties and the public, resulting in significant changes to election campaigning and election strategies. Political parties utilized digital platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and TikTok to disseminate information, news, and policies, as well as to quickly and widely gather feedback and suggestions from the public. Digital communication helped build the image of a political party, enhances participation, and reaches new target groups, especially younger generations who used digital media. Furthermore, political parties often used social media to direct their communication, build organizational image, and mobilize public support. This involved using diverse content such as short videos and live broadcasts, to directly reach target audiences and to continuously gather feedback and adjust communication strategies. Therefore, the use of social media by political parties was considered a crucial strategy in political communication
