Abstract

This academic article examined the political participation and behavioral patterns of Thai youth aged 18–35 during 2019–2024, aiming to analyze the formation of active citizenship in the digital era. The study employed a literature review, content analysis of social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, and TikTok), and case studies of contemporary youth political movements. The findings indicated that Thai youth were transitioning from passive to active citizens by using digital platforms to express opinions, advocate for rights, and monitor governmental power, thereby developing a new form of civic identity. Nevertheless, political participation remained constrained by centralized political structures and legal limitations. The article recommended strengthening civic education, developing inclusive digital platforms, and creating safe democratic spaces that promote meaningful political participation while respecting citizens' rights.
