Abstract

This article examined the dynamics of digital politics that transform power structures and challenge the concept of state sovereignty in the era of free information flow. The article analyzed digital politics as a structural transformation rather than mere technological adoption, demonstrating its impact on power holders, citizens, and the state as a whole. The analytical section identified two critical aspects of digital politics. The first aspect concerns the expansion of digital public spaces that enable citizens to become digital citizens with increased political participation. The second aspect addresses the transformation of communication behavior and information consumption patterns that lead to echo chambers and filter bubbles, which subsequently affect political information perception. The article further presented five comprehensive approaches to preserve state sovereignty in this context. These approaches encompassed the development of modern legal and regulatory frameworks such as personal data protection laws and digital platform controls, the strengthening of digital literacy and critical thinking among citizens to build immunity against disinformation, the promotion of international cooperation in governance and cybersecurity threat response, investment in domestic digital technology and infrastructure to reduce external dependence, and the establishment of transparent and accountable balance between freedom of expression and harmful content control. Addressing these challenges requires adaptive capacity and integrated comprehensive approaches from the state to maintain sovereign power in a rapidly transforming political landscape.
