DEVELOPING SYSTEMATIC THINKING SKILLS THROUGH ACTIVE LEARNING INTEGRATED WITH LOCAL WISDOM: A CASE STUDY ON PICKLED BUFFALO HORN FOR GRADE 4 STUDENTS AT BAN SAPAN SCHOOL, NAN PROVINCE

Abstract

This research aims to 1. study the academic achievement in the topic of systematic thinking by using Active Learning integrated with local wisdom of Grade 4 students and 2. develop systematic thinking skills of Grade 4 students by using Active Learning integrated with local wisdom. The research methodology is research and development. The population is Grade 4 students of Ban Sapan School, Nan Province, who are studying in the first semester of the academic year 2024. The sample group is Grade 4 students who are studying in the first semester of the academic year 2024, 1 classroom, totaling 24 people. The research instruments are 1. Learning management plan 2. Achievement test 3. Data analysis using mean, standard deviation, Paired samples t-test and content analysis.

The research findings revealed that the learning management plan integrating active learning with local wisdom on the topic of Makhao Kway Preserved in Syrup for Grade 4 students was of high quality in all components content, learning process, assessment, and instructional media. The plan aligned appropriately with the Basic Education Core Curriculum B.E. 2008. After implementation, students' post-learning achievement scores were significantly higher than their pre-learning scores at the 0.05 level of statistical significance, reflecting the effectiveness of the plan in promoting systematic thinking and connecting learning to the local context.
