COMMUNITY-BASED LEARNING ACTIVITIES FOR DEVELOPING YOUTH LEADERS AS TAI YUAN CULTURAL INNOVATORS IN BAN DONG PRADOKE-KROM TAN AREA, SAMO KHAE SUB-DISTRICT, MUEANG DISTRICT, PHITSANULOK PROVINCE

Abstract

This qualitative research aimed: 1. To examine the current conditions and challenges in implementing community-based learning to cultivate youth cultural innovation grounded in Tai Yuan (Thai Yuan) traditions; and 2. develop community-based learning activities to foster cultural innovation among youth leaders in the Ban Dong Pradok–Kromtham area, Somokhae Subdistrict, Mueang District, Phitsanulok Province. The learning process followed a non-formal education model. The researcher engaged in participatory fieldwork with the local community, employing in-depth interviews and triangulation methods to ensure data credibility. Evaluation was conducted through interview data and analysis of student-produced cultural artifacts.

The findings revealed that most participating youth demonstrated the ability to integrate prior knowledge with new learning, posed thoughtful questions, engaged in critical thinking, and proposed original and creative ideas in designing Tai Yuan cultural products. They also exhibited the capacity to extend cultural ideas and build social networks in collaboration with the community.
