INTEGRATING BUDDHIST PRINCIPLES TO BUILD MORALE OF RECRUITS IN THE 11TH MILITARY CIRCLE

Abstract

Objectives of this research were   to study the general condition, factors affecting morale and Integrating Buddhist principles to build morale for the recruits in the 11^th Military Circle, conducted by the mixed methods. The qualitative research, data were collected from 27 key informants by in-depth-interviewing and analyzed by descriptive interpretation. The quantitative research, data were collected from 386 samples who were the recruits at the 11^th Military Circle and analyzed with frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, simple regression and stepwise regression.

The results of the study were found that: 1. Recruits in the 11^th Military Circle who have to serve the country was honored and regarded as "Fence of the nation" and have expectations for the future. 2. Factors affecting morale including potential development and Sangkhahavattu 4. 3. Application of Sanghahavattu 4 to build the morale for the recruits at the 11^th Military Circle was that Samanattata, appropriately performance by training to be patriotic, strong, patient, self-disciplined and obedient. Attachariya, behaving usefully to oneself and others with helping kind mind. Dana, giving knowledge and opportunity to defense oneself and career and Piyavacha, useful speech, beneficial and friendly words with sincerity and forgiveness, accordingly.
