A CAUSAL RELATIONSHIP MODEL FOR WELL-BEING DEVELOPMENT IN THE ELDERLY IN LOCAL ADMINISTRATIVE MUNICIPALITY IN PHRA NAKHON SI AYUTTHAYA PROVINCE

Abstract

          Objectives of this research were to study the general health status of the elderly, to study the factors affecting the well-beings status of the elderly and to propose a causal relationship model for the development of elderly well-beings in local administrative organizations in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province. Methodology was the mixed research methods. The quantitative research used a questionnaire with reliability value at 0.992. The data were collected from 430 samples who were elderly in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province and analyzed by using Frequency, Percentage, Mean, Standard Deviation, Structural Equation Model and Confirmatory Factor Analysis. As for the qualitative method, data were collected from 18 key informants by face-to-face in-depth interviews. The qualitative data were analyzed by descriptive interpretation and from 10 participants in focus group discussion to use data to validate the model after the data analysis.

          The research findings were as follows. Well-beings of the elderly in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province, by overall was at the highest level Each aspect consisted of social health, intellectual health, 3 mental health and 4 physical health. The Factors affecting for well-being development the elderly in local administrative municipality Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province consisted management, Health enhancement and Bhavana 4 were factors affecting the elderly well being at local administrative organizations in Phra Nakorn Sri Ayuthaya Province. The causal relationship model of the elderly well being development had 2 external latent variables consisting of management and health promotion factors with Bhavana 4 as   and a mediating variable that well affected the elderly well being at the local administrative organization in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province.
