DEVELOPMENT OF SCHOOL CURRICULUM MANAGEMENT PROCESS IN SECONDARY SCHOOLS UNDER THE OFFICE OF BASIC EDUCATION COMMISSION OF NORTH-EASTERN

Objectives of this research were : 1) to study the current situations, problems, and guidelines for school curriculum management, 2) to develop and 3) to study the findings from trying out the school curriculum management process in secondary schools under the Office of Basic Education Commission of North-Eastern. There were 3 phases of research, Phase 1 : the study of current situations, problems, and guidelines for school curriculum management were 544 samples including 272 school directors or assistant school directors, 272 heads of curriculum development division, 15 key informants of focus group, Phase 2 : the development of school curriculum management process based on 3 case studies; Khon-Kaen Pattanasuksa School, Som-Poy Pittayakhom School, and Benchama Maharat School. The tentative process was investigated the accuracy and propriety by 15 experts using evaluation form, and Phase 3 : the school curriculum management process was implemented in 3 schools. The instrument using for data collection included the questionnaire, focus group, interview, documentary study, evaluation form, and satisfaction form. The data were analyzed the mean and standard deviation through the quantitative data, and the content analysis through qualitative data. The research findings found that :
- The schools’ current situations and problems in overall were at the medium level.
- The school curriculum management process in secondary schools under the Office of Basic Education Commission of North-Eastern consisted of 5 steps; 1) the preparation, 2) the forming school curriculum, 3) the curriculum implementation, 4) the evaluation and curriculum implementation conclusion, and 5)
the improvement and school curriculum development.
- The findings of school curriculum management process implementation were found the schools had implemented all steps of school curriculum management process.
