THE CAUSAL FACTORS AFFECTING OF THE QUALITY OF WORKING LIFE OF POLICE OFFICERS, ROYAL THAI POLICE

This dissertation aims at 1) discovering factors responsible for the quality of working life of police officers of the Royal Thai Police Office 2) verifying patterns of causal factors 3) specifying direct, indirect and cumulative influences of those factors and 4) recommending ways and means in formulating a strategy to achieve quality of life of police officers.
This research undertaking made use of mixed methods, i.e. a) quantitative type making use of Multi-Stage Random Sampling of 450 police offices from all over the country b) qualitative type using in-depth interview of 12 police offices.
The findings are as follows:
1) The quality of working life of police officersare positively influenced indirectly by democratic leadership variable via environmental and administrative resources variables at the statistically significant level 0.01
2) The quality of working life of police officers arepositively influenced directly by environment variables at the statistically significant level 0.05
3) The quality of working life of police officers are positively influenced directly byresource managementvariablesat the statistically significant level 0.01
