Employees' Opinions of Srithai Superware Public Company Limited Toward the Quality System ISO 9000 : 2000 in the Organization

Abstract

The objectives of this research were to study Employees' Opinions of Srithai Superware PCL on the implementation of ISO 9000 : 2000 in the organization. The samples of this research consisted of 374 employees of Srithai Supeware PCL, who were responsible for the scope of ISO 9000 : 2000. Questionnaires were used as the research instrument while the statistics of the data analysis consisted of percentage, mean. Standard deviation, t-test, One Way ANOVA, Least Significant Difference (LSD), Chi-square Test Whereas the data were analyzed by SPSS Program. The research findings were that the majority of questionnaire respondents were single female aging 21-30 years old. Most of them obtained the secondary education and have worded with the company less than 5 years, namely, the average working period was 2 years. The respondents have worked on the ISO 9000 : 2000 for 3-5 years while the average working period related to ISO 9000 : 2000 was 3 years. Persons responsible for the work of ISO 9000 : 2000 were mainly the employees rather than the supervisors. The respondents obtained 5,000-10,000 Baht per month. Concerning the knowledge related to ISO 9000 : 2000, most respondents did not agree with the system of ISO 9000 : 2000 because the system was not necessary and the company would waste some budgets. On the other hand, some respondents agreed with ISO 9000 : 2000 but the employees

should be acknowledged about the quality policy of the company through the internal communication. In general, most respondents obtained the details related to ISO 9000 : 2000 from the trainings. In terms of the benefits from the

implementation of ISO 9000 : 2000, most respondents agreed with such quality system exploitation; however, they were not certain to follow the practice of ISO 9000 : 2000 system.

Additionally, the research also found that :

1. Different age, working period and position did not affect the opinions on the implementation of ISO 9000 : 2000 in the organization. 

2. Different working period on ISO 9000 : 2000 did not lead to the different opinions on the Implementation of ISO 9000 : 2000 in the organization in terms of the benefits of ISO 9000 : 2000 with the significance at. 05.

3. Factors related to ISO 9000 : 2000 and factors related to internal communication in organization were associated with the opinions on the implementation of ISO 9000 : 2000 in the organization in terms of the benefits and the practices of ISO 9000 : 2000 with the significance at O.01 and 0.05, respectively
