Thai Sangha Control and Hierarchy

Abstract

The word “Sangha” means a group or a community of monks (sangha) who has been established in an orderly way. It is ideal and objectives are living together with peace in order to behave and practice as monkhood in Buddhism. The sangha always learn and practice the Threefold Training (training in higher morality, training in higher mentality, and training in higher wisdom) to develop to meet the whole growth of the Threefold Training. In addition, the meaning of Sangha in the Triple Gem is the group of monks who practice the magga and the meaning of Sangha in the Triple Gem is the group of monks who practice and train the Noble Eightfold Path.The group of people who follow this or have faith to do in this way will grow oneself and others and society as well. The importance to do physically in disciplinary, harmonious, and friendly association. When the group have develop physically, verbally and mentally, they will meet the whole growth of their living. The Buddha used to say, “I, myself respect to the Dhamma and my disciples do the same way’’. The Buddha holds unity and its benefit as the highest goal.
