THE COMMUNITIES PRESERVING FIVE PRECEPTS: MODEL AND PROMOTE PROCESSES OF UNITIES CULTURAL IN THAI SOCIETY

Abstract

The four objectives of this research were: 1) To study the concept, factors , indicator , lesson and five precepts village keeping integration; 2) To study the strategy and process to five precepts keepingin the individual level, organization, and community according to the five precepts village project; 3) To study the process to co-living culture promotion of Thai community according to five precepts village : A case study of the villages in the North, the Northeast, the Central , and the South; and 4) for the scale creation to living of community in Thai society according to five precepts as the mixed research methodology both quality and quantity. The findings of this research as follows : 1) The concept of five precepts village keeping project has two factors are (1) the network creation is to invite the people in the village to keep the five precepts for connection to other groups to come for five precepts keeping volunteerly under the respect of human rights, hospitality to each other by having the principle of member network relation with volunteer, having the same concept and view, member participation in the network, helping each others. (2) The public relations to transfer the goodness is to announce and invite the people to do goodness by keeping the five precepts in daily life. 2) The process to co-living culture creation of Thai community under the five precepts village project; the community will create (1) the community must have the leader to have the five precepts (2) to create the rule and having the obey the rule (3) To live together with the loving kindness (4) No favour in materialism and have the sufficiency and satisfaction of beings (5) To have the readiness and have the harmony of community 3) The co-living culture promotion of Thai community according to five precepts village in four regions to have the five precepts as the basic activity creation that effect on good behavior of people in the community such as chanting project on Sunday to overcome the evils and to integrate the principle of five precepts to live in daily life by no changing the normal life. 4) The finding from analysis confirmation to the factors of five precepts for the scale creation to living of community in Thai society according to five precepts principle. The finding of analysis confirmation to the factors of five precepts as the model that has the match with the information in the good scale, positive scale at least 0.05 level for all. The most important scales the first and fourth precepts that show the good behavior, no disturb to others and straight. The second rank is the second precept and fifth precept is the lowest due to some part of society that they drink alcohol and intoxicants that no against the precepts and the alcohol drinking is the herbal medicine for good health. The scale of weight is low due to the opinion of practitioners.
