AN INTEGRATION OF BUDDHADHAMMA FOR TEACHING AND LEARNING MANAGEMENT OF MORAL TEACHING MONKS IN SECONDARY SCHOOL OF CHONBURI PROVINCE

The objectives of this research were : (1) to study the state of integration of
Buddhadhamma for teaching and learning management of moral teaching monks in
secondary school of Chonburi province, (2) to study the concept for integration of
Buddhadhamma for teaching and learning management of moral teaching monks in
secondary school of Chonburi province, (3)to present the procedure for integration of
Buddhadhamma for teaching and learning management of moral teaching monks in
secondary school of Chonburi province.
This research was the qualitative research by studying the document
analysis, in depth interview with 26 key informants of moral teaching monks and
officers. The tool for this research is the questionnaire and to collect the data by
noting and recording. The data analysis through descriptive content analysis and
focus group discussion from 11 religious specialists and teaching and learning
management. The tools for this research are specific focus group and basic form for
data confirmation. The data is collected by small group meeting, recording, and note
down. The data analysis is through the descriptive data analysis.
The findings of this research as follows:
1. The state of integration of Buddhadhamma for teaching and learning
management of moral teaching monks in secondary school of Chonburi province,
found that the teaching and learning management as child center, the moral
teaching monks in the school used the teaching method focus on independent
thinking character to students. The problem solution is to summarize the lesson and
critical thinking of current situation. For the teaching and learning management as
focus on research, the moral teaching monks lack of research knowledge due to
majority of monks finished Dhamma education only. So, must have the knowledge
development about research more to moral teaching monks. For the learning
management that focus on project usage, the moral teaching monks allowed the
students to participate for Buddhism project, had the promotion and support the
students to have the competition in many places and got many rewards. The
teaching and learning management that focus on local wisdom, the moral teaching
monks used the temple as the teaching management center by inviting the local
wisdom teachers to help for teaching.
2. The concept for integration of Buddhadhamma for teaching and learning
management of moral teaching monks in secondary school of Chonburi province,
found that had used the concept of management by total quality management of
Deming such as 1) the step of planning 2) the step for planning into practice step 3)
the step of examination and evaluation 4) the step of standard improvement, to use
the teaching and learning management to match with the teaching and learning
management as child center, the teaching and learning management as focus on
research, the learning management that focus on project usage, the teaching and
learning management that focus on local wisdom and outdoor teaching. For the
Buddhadhamma is used integrated in teaching and learning management of moral
teaching monks which will help the teacher for good teaching management and
better learning student are Trisikkha such as precept, precept keeping practice, rule,
regulation and discipline, concentration, breath practice, calm mind, wisdom,
consideration, solution, development, application, improvement and creative thinking
for getting the desired characteristics are Chanda(aspiration) is the work and learning
satisfaction, Viriya (energy) is to work hard and get the success, Citta (thoughtfulness)is
to pay attention in the work and education, Vimangsa(investigation) is to revise the
mistakes and solve the problems.
3. The procedure for integration of Buddhadhamma for teaching and learning
management of moral teaching monks in secondary school of Chonburi province,
consists of four steps such as 1) the step of planning: the moral teaching monk will set
the teaching plan as the priority by studying the data, teaching and learning methods,basic characteristics of students, the interest of students, teaching equipment. 2) The
step for planning into practice step: To convince the student to study and to give the
opportunity to students for work critical thinking. 3) The step of examination and
evaluation: to examine and evaluate from students’ behavior observation, interest,
cooperation including the co-relation while have the activity together with friends, to
have the pretest and posttest. 4) The step of standard improvement: must solve the
problem, end the weakness and promote the strength, to provoke the students to
study, to promote the sympathy to students, and have the continuously development.
The first method is to teach the teachers and students to be good citizens, work hard,
self discipline, behave well, precept keeping practice, order, discipline regularly, obey
the rule of school, no against the rule of school, intend to practice, regularly precept
keeping, share, review of cause of behavior against morality and solutions. The second
method is to teach teachers and students to like the quietness, work hard, study with
happiness, breath practice, calm mind, fun with learning, meditation siting, chanting,
review of lesson, homework doing, and revise the behavior, more practice meditation.
The third method is to teach the teachers and students to have creative thinking,
service mind, help others, share, to think to solve the problems, consideration,
solution, applied development, improvement, creativeness, more reading, intend to
study, ask the question from doubt, help others, revise the learning method, solutions
of mistakes, to always create the wisdom.
