THE BUDDHISM PROPAGATION MANAGEMENT OF SANGHA ADMINISTRATORS IN MUANG DISTRICT, CHONBURI PROVINCE

Abstract

Objectives of this research were: 1. To study Buddhism dissemination management of administrative monks at  Muang District,  Cholburi Province, 2. To compare peoples’ opinions towards the Buddhism dissemination of administrative monks at Muang District, Cholburi  Province and 3. To study problems, obstacles and proposal for Buddhism dissemination management of  administrative monks at Muang District, PCholburi Province

          Methodology was the mixed methods; The quantitative research collected data by survey method  from 300 samples derived from populations of 1,205 monks using Taro Yamane’s formula with opened and closed end questionnaires that had reliability value at 0.713, analyzed data with descriptive statistics : frequency, percentile, mean and SD, standard deviation, t-test and F-test. The qualitative research collected data from 10 key informants, interviewing with structured  in-depth-interviewing scripts and analyzed data by descriptive interpretation.

            Findings were as follows:

  1. Monks-samples’ pinions towards the Buddhism dissemination
    of administrative monks at Muang District, Cholburi Province by overall were at high levels and each aspect was also at high level; palinning, organizing, staffing, and directing and controlling were also at high level consecutively.
  2. Monks’ opinions comparison about the Buddhism dissemination
    of Administrative monks at Muang District, Chonburi Province, classified by personal factors finding that monks with different ages,Dhamma and formal educational levels, did not have different opinions toward Buddhism dissemination  of administrative monks at Muang  District, Cholburi Province, denying the set hypothesis. Monks  with different ordained age, P{ali educational levels had different opinions toward Buddhism dissemination of administrative monks with statistical significant level at 0.05 accepting the set hypothesis.
  3. Problems, obstacles of Buddhism dissemination management of administered monks at Muang District, Chonburi Province were that
    1) Administrative monks lacked planning to comply with the administrative monks duties, 2)  Administrative monks lacked training in preparation to be Buddhism disseminators, 3)Administrative monks should recruit more personnel 
    4) Administrative monks should coordinate with involved state and private agencies and  5) Administrative monks should follow-up and evaluation of Buddhism disseminators.
