The objectives of this research were : 1) to study the general condition of using information technology for propagating Buddhism of monks in Suphanburi Province 2) to study the components of promoting the use of using information technology for propagating Buddhism of monks in Suphanburi Province 3) to present a model for promoting the use of information technology for propagating Buddhism of monks in Suphanburi Province The methodology was the qualitative research, collecting data from related texts and researches and 35 key informants by in-depth-interview and focus group discussion with 10 participants. Data were analyzed by the descriptive interpretation,
The findings were as follow;
1) The general condition of using information technology for propagating Buddhism of monks in Suphanburi Province. Strengths can receive information in many ways. Especially on the internet, it is convenient, fast, accessible to a large number of people at the same time, saving time and money. The weakness of most monks still uses the same presentation techniques to make it boring. The use of information technology is limited. Personnel lack of learning and lack of skills in using technology media the opportunity to use information media is something that is remembered in the daily lives of people. It is a tool that helps to promote the propagation of Buddhism to be good, extensive, and cover the areas that need it as well. The general obstacle is that the use of information technology may be contrary to the discipline. Older monks do not open their minds, accepting access through media channels, still adhering to the original pattern. Propagation is therefore different.
2) Elements in promoting the use of information technology for propagating Buddhism by monks in Suphanburi Province. Missionary personnel were many people who have knowledge of the principles of ethics but lack the knowledge to use information technology to be ready for proactive work. Budget for propagation lack of financial and accounting personnel financial support for purchasing modern equipment is still limited, not distributed throughout the province. Propagation materials lack of support for modern materials for use in propagating Buddhism outside the premises including vehicles for traveling lack of support from the clergy and the government seriously. System management, the current propagation model is different, people do not go in the same direction, lack of training to develop knowledge of information technology personnel to keep up with the modern era.
3) Guidelines for promoting the use of information technology for propagating Buddhism by monks in Suphanburi Province. Must establish a data collection center for propagating Buddhism. There is a public relations center and a training center for knowledge about information technology for propagating Buddhism by jointly analyzing the current problems in propagating Buddhism in their own areas to lead to the administration of Buddhism propagation According to the process, the process is the mission personnel Budget for propagation publishing equipment and system management. In order to improve the initial process for the management of information technology, namely the provision of materials, information situation analysis storage technology system management and dissemination of information, news and technology by the monks who act to spread Buddhism must have the knowledge and ability to be ready to work proactively to keep up with the modern era.
