The Development of a Management Model for Sustainable Mother of the Land Fund in Nakhon Si Thammarat Province

Abstract
This research aimed to: 1) study the operational conditions and best practices of the "Mother of the Land Fund" by employing content analysis and in-depth interviews with four selected fund cases, along with data triangulation; 2) develop a practical model through expert seminars; and 3) examine the usefulness and feasibility of the model using quantitative data analysis, including mean and standard deviation.
The findings revealed that 1) the fund's operations could be categorized into three key components: (1) Inputs, comprising human capital, resource capital, and cultural capital; (2) Management processes across six areas: management systems, leadership, community participation, drug prevention and suppression, fund financial management, and support from governmental and related agencies; and (3) Outcomes, which include drug-free communities, communities rooted in positive cultural values, and self-reliant communities. The fund's best practices were identified in four key approaches: drug resistance building, recognition and inspiration, fund development and extension, and network building. 2) The developed model and accompanying manual consisted of five parts: principles, objectives, operational methods, management mechanisms, and success conditions. 3) The model was evaluated to be highly appropriate ( = 4.77, S.D. = 0.51) and highly accurate (
= 4.74, S.D. = 0.51). Furthermore, the model’s usefulness and feasibility were rated at high and highest levels, respectively (usefulness:
= 4.57, S.D. = 0.59; feasibility:
= 4.50, S.D. = 0.59).
