A Management Model to Develop the Innovative Characteristics of Students in Educational Opportunity Expansion Schools

Abstract
The research article aimed at development a management model to develop students’ innovative characteristics in educational opportunity expansion schools. The study employed research and development (R&D) method with the following three phases: 1) investigating the needs and guidelines for developing the innovative characteristics of students in educational opportunity expansion schools. The key informants were 364 school administrators and academic teachers from educational opportunity expansion schools in the lower northern region, as well as five school administrators from three schools that received the 'Best Practice School' title; 2) constructing a management model to develop the innovative characteristics of students in educational opportunity expansion schools after verifying with nine experts; and 3) assessing a management model to develop the innovative characteristics of students in educational opportunity expansion schools by 364 school administrators and academic teachers in educational opportunity expansion schools, who were chosen by multi-stage sampling. The obtained data were analyzed by mean and standard deviation.
From the study, the following results were found: 1) the first phase was the needs and guidelines for developing the innovative characteristics of students in educational opportunity expansion schools, which consisted of three components namely input, process, and output and success factors; 2) the second phase was the construction of a management model to develop the innovative characteristics of students in educational opportunity expansion schools, which comprised three components namely input, process, and output and conditions for success; and 3) the third phase included assessing a model for feasibility and utilization, the findings revealed that feasibility was at a high level ( = 4.41), while utilization was at the highest level (
= 4.55).
