The Relationship Building Process among Labors to Enhance Peaceful Organization by Buddhist Peaceful Means: A Case Study of Rayong Cash Inventory Center

Abstract

The purposes of this research article are as follows: 1) to study the context and problems of the relationship among staff; 2) to study the theories of relationship building among labors to enhance peaceful organization; and 3) to present the relationship building process among labors to enhance peaceful organization of Rayong Banknote Management and Operation Center. The research article is qualitative research by which a sample used were the administrators of Krung Thai Bank Public Company Limited, staff of Rayong Banknote Management and Operation Center, labor relations specialists, and experts on peaceful means or related. The research instruments for data collection consisted of interviews by means of purposive sampling in a total of 24 persons, participant observation and focus group discussion in a total of 7 persons.
The study results found as follows:
1) The context and problems of the relationship among staff of Rayong Banknote Management and Operation Center consisted of: (1) Welfare which did not cover the parents; (2) Promotion of labor culture by which there are no certain rules and regulations; (3) Problems of morality and ethics by which there are policies but not in a systematic order; and (4) Problems of the promotion of skills, knowledge, and experiences that lack respect.
2) The theories of relationship building among labors of Rayong Banknote Management and Operation Center by applying the Buddhist peaceful means to create peaceful organization, namely, Sāraṇīyadhamma or the Six States of Conciliation consisting of (1) Mettākāyakamma - to be amiable in deed, openly and in private; (2) Mettāvacīkamma - to be amiable in word, openly and in private; (3) Mettāmanokamma – to be amiable in thought, openly and in private; (4) Sādhāraabhogitā – to share any lawful gains with virtuous fellows; (5) Sīlasāmaññatā - to keep without blemish the rules of conduct along with one’s fellows, openly and in private; and (6) Diṭṭhisāmaññatā - to be endowed with right views along with one’s fellows, openly and in private.
3) The relationship building process among staff of Rayong Banknote Management and Operation Center consisted of the following: (1) Communication; (2) Participatory management; (3) Creating atmosphere of commitment and relationship; (4) Human Resources development; and (5) The Buddhist peaceful means for managing labor relations. All of this constitutes as Sāraṇīyadhamma.
